Mario Bellini Cognac Leather "Le Bambole" Sofa for B&B Italia, 1973

€9,990.00

Here is an icon of Italian design by famed architect Mario Bellini; “Le Bambole” featured here in its loveseat version.

This specimen is an early 1973 production as “Le Bambole” started being produced by B&B in 1972 in Italy. This sought after and comfortable piece features an all original cognac-caramel color soft leather.

Conceived as "habitable sculptures," the seating appears to be made entirely of soft cushions with no rigid internal load-bearing skeleton, giving a natural shape that hugs the human body.

"Le Bambole" reflects the playful, soft, and organic aesthetic that broke away from traditional stiff-framed furniture of the era.

The collection won the prestigious Italian Compasso d'Oro design award in 1979.

This stunning loveseat is in its original condition with very minimal age appropriate patina.

Dimensions: 175cmWx69cmDx75cmH - Seat height: 46cm
