A superb and rare plate signed by the renowned french ceramist Jean Rivier in the famous Vallauris studio in the 1960’s.
It is made of glazed ceramic and features a cream-white glazed background with a stylized, abstract, graphic central motif, composed of fine brown lines and colored shapes hand-drawn and highly representative of the abstract style of mid-20th-century ceramists, particularly Jean Rivier.
Jean RIvier really found his style in the 1960s by creating engravings of cuneiform and abstract writing in his decor, inspired by Tassili's parietal art in Algeria and by Art Brut.
Good condition.
